In Eberswalde, it is not unusual to call cranes by animal names. One of the landmarks of the city is the 54-meter-high "boar". Here we present the somewhat more manageable model of the "trout", still originally 25 meters high. For experts: This is a "full-portal luffing and slewing crane with jib luffing system". In the nationally-owned crane factory Eberswalde, the "trout" was manufactured from 1950 to 1970 and was a great hit for export. It is still in operation in many harbors worldwide today. Under the new and old designation Kirow Ardelt GmbH, the company remains market leader in some segments until today. When we put in a request for our exhibition in the Museum Eberswalde, the trade fair model purchased in 1968 was the top priority. An exhibit which makes clear right away: Crane construction is Eberswalde! In business, this would be referred to as corporate identity.
