Ironworks and Fishery Museum Peitz
The museum is located in the most significant building complex of the historical area which includes the blast furnace and foundry house and ancillary buildings. Numerous objects, display boards and models lead visitors into the past of the oldest, partially still operational ironworks in Germany, dating from the middle of the 16th century. The processes of smelting bog iron and manufacturing casting products amidst the historical backdrop of industrialization as well as the history of the Peitz Fortress can be explored. The Fishery Museum is located in the former molding shop and displays a number of exhibits from all areas of inland fishery on approx. 200 sqm exhibition space. The fortress tower is also part of the museum.
