Historic locomotive shed Wittenberge
The Historic Engine Shed Wittenberge Railway Museum with its turntable, water towers, locomotive treatment facilities, historic workshops and signal box is located in the north-western corner of the state of Brandenburg, at the intersection of the Berlin - Hamburg and Magdeburg - Schwerin main lines and is easy to reach by train from all directions.
Its 170-year history can be experienced in the buildings and the permanent exhibition, which displays exhibits from local and regional railway history. Over 40 railway vehicles of different types and functions provide an insight into the railway. On display are seven steam locomotives, four mainline and ten shunting diesel locomotives, an electric locomotive as well as small carriages, goods, passenger and service vehicles.
