City Museum Schwedt
The center of the collection of the city museum in Schwedt/Oder are the rich findings of prehistory and early history, from the Middle Ages, the margrave era in the 17th and 18th century as well as the tobacco and fishing industry. Regularly changing special exhibitions and attractive support programs consisting of lectures, event days and excursions make this museum a real experience - It also manages the former Jewish ritual bath and the synagogue servant house which present a small exhibition about the life of Jewish citizens in Schwedt. The exhibition "NVA soldiers behind bars. The army jail Schwedt as a place of repression" grew out of the confrontation between the city of Schwedt and the former GDR military prison.
