“Schmidt von Werneuchen” Documentation Centre

The exhibition in the cultural centre “Adlersaal” is entirely dedicated to the life and work of the poet and priest Schmidt of Werneuchen. Friedrich Wilhelm August Schmidt had taken up the priest’s position in Werneuchen in 1795 and lived there for 43 years. He wrote many simple poems about the country and people that were received by Goethe and Fontane and thus gained nationwide popularity.
