Roger-Loewig House - Museum and Memorial Bad Belzig
In June of 2009, a museum dedicated to the painter, illustrator and poet Roger Loewig (1930 - 1997) opened its doors in Bad Belzig. The Roger-Loewig-Museum is in a residence in Bad Belzig which belonged to a befriended couple who provided the artist with refuge and work between his release from prison and his emigration to the West. The cause for his arrest were accusations of propaganda due to his first exhibition. The permanent exhibition presents some of Loewig's multi-faceted work and his eventful biography. His literary work is also introduced. Furthermore, the museum offers a number of events.
