Museum of Local History Bernau
The exhibition in the headsman house tells of the history of executions and the lifestyle of the citizens in the area from the 17th to the 19th century. The premises include a "Citizen's Room", the "Black Kitchen" and an exhibition about the Hussites. Medieval history comes alive a few steps away in the stone gate with armory, parapet and dungeon. The museum organizes the Hussite Festival in Bernau which commemorates the encounter between the people of Bernau and the Hussites in 1432.
