Museum of Local History Liebenwalde
The Museum of Local History Liebenwalde is situated behind high walls, right next to City Hall. Visitors will sense it in every corner of the old walling: this is not a normal house! Bars in front of the windows, peepholes and feeding hatches in the doors, inscriptions and paintings of former inmates on the walls and on the old furnaces. A "real" prison cell still exists as well. The cells provide information about the shipping industry, especially of the Finow Channel, about the history of the city of Liebenwalde and its districts, about the history of church, school, fire department and associations, about trade and crafts history as well as about the "Heidekrautbahn" rail track.
