Museum of Local History Erkner
The Museum of Local History illustrates the history of the city Erkner by presenting findings from the Stone and Bronze Age as well as exhibits and documents of the present. The focus of the exhibition is the time of the internal colonization by Frederick the Great as well as the economic development and commercial settlement in the region. The barn of the farm accommodates an exhibition about the invention of the plastic "Bakelite" in Erkner. An herb garden and an orchard are also on the grounds. The complete premises have been declared a protected monument. The local Booster Club Erkner manages the museum and the grounds. The former cowshed is used for special events.
