Local history museum of Dahme
The local history museum of Dahme is located in a prestigious timber-frame building from the 18th century. The exhibited objects reflect the traditions and rustic life in municipality of Niederer Fläming and recreate the historical development of the local artisanship. The focus is on cigar manufacturing and blueprinting. Moreover, we are reminded of the town’s important personalities like Friedrich Wilhelm Kullrich (1821-1887), who as the first medallion maker of Berlin’s coin and court’s medallion maker, designed Prussia’s coins for the first time and after 1871 the coins for Germany. In addition, the museum organizes special exhibitions and conducts city tours dealing with various themes.
