Wendisches Museum/Serbski muze

The Wendish Museum/Serbski muzej is dedicated to the cultural history of the Sorbs/Wends in Lower Lusatia. Its permanent exhibition, which was redesigned in 2020, provides a multi-layered insight into the historical and contemporary world of the indigenous Sorbian/Wendish people. The presentation focuses on faith, religion, language, literature, customs, traditional dress, art and music, as well as the threat and loss of homeland and identity associated with progress.

Temporary exhibitions and a variety of events at the museum address both historical and current aspects of Sorbian/Wendish life and aim to raise visitors' awareness of the need to preserve the Sorbian/Wendish language.
