Documentation Center of Everyday Culture of the GDR Eisenhüttenstadt
The Documentation Center of Everyday Culture of the GDR is the Brandenburg-based museum for cultural, social and everyday history in Germany's East. It was founded in 1993 and documents the real-life dimensions of the history of the GDR, the safeguard of the everyday culture for the purposes of research and education, of illustration and communication between East and West Germans, between generations and cultures. A specialized library is open to the public and includes publications from the GDR as well as more recent literature. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the Documentation Center also regularly organizes special exhibitions.
