Bettina and Achim of Arnim museum
Once occupied by Ludwig Achim and Bettina von Arnim, the Wiepersdorf palace hosts today an exhibition about the well-known novelist couple. Publications and documents remind us of the life and work of von Arnim as well as of their friends and discussion group, to which, among others, the brothers Grimm and Clemens Brentano belonged. Standing in this tradition, this estate served in the erstwhile GDR as an artists’ house and was equipped with contemporary furniture and paintings. Today, the mansion is an artists’ house. Scholarship holders of literature, fine arts and music can pursue their activities here without being disturbed. A literary library is kept open on request.
