Germanic Settlement Klein Köris
The museum is found at the location of a ground monument, a Germanic settlement from the second to the fifth centuries A.D which was excavated in large parts from 1976 to 1995. After the excavation work was completed, some of the wood/clay buildings were constructed in their natural size and right at archeologically proven locations, and outfitted accordingly. That way, a vivid image of the life situations of the Germanic farmers and pastoralists of that time in the Spree-Dahme region is gradually being completed.
