Brüssow Local History Museum
The Brüssow Local History Museum is located in a former Old Lutheran church, which was built in 1859 and used as a place of worship until 1915. The history of the emigration of the Old Lutherans to America in 1843 is also at the centre of the new exhibition set up in 2009. It tells of the preparations for emigration and the first steps towards resettlement in the USA. Visitors from America can obtain information about their ancestors in the museum and complete their family history. On 27 October 2018, a cooperation agreement was signed with the German Emigration Museum "Das Haus, Einhaus und der Stall" in New Bergholz NY (USA), near the Niagara Falls. The museum's exhibition also tells the story of the town of Brüssow and its surroundings from prehistory and early history to modern times.
