Castle Museum Lenzen
The Castle Museum Lenzen invites visitors to explore the fascinating natural and cultural history of the Elbtalaue Reserve. Precious original objects, listening stations and computer animations guide visitors through the multi-faceted history of the city. The natural exhibition makes the river landscape along the "Green Belt" come alive. More than four floors of information display hands-on exhibits requiring all senses, from floodplain ecology and flood protection to the Biosphere Reserve Elbe River Landscape and the flood of the century from 2002. A special natural experience is the view from the 24-m high castle tower and a virtual flight on the back of a gray heron. Afterwards, a visit to the open storage depot in the city center is well worth it, access is via the tourist information center.
